Early winter is not the best season to go berry-picking, at least not when it comes to most berries. Even in Hoenn, where tropical climate rules over the weather, the fields have grown cold, and a delicate layer of frost seems to cover even the smallest blade of grass – as if preserving them forever.

To Ceri, who was born and raised in a city of perpetual frost and snowfall, it’s merely one step closer to what she knows and loves, and there’s nothing short of delight in her voice when arriving at the fields where berries grow even in this weather.

Particular weather for particular berries, their strange effects ever as delightful as their equally strange taste. Combine them with a few other ingredients, shake things up, give the mix to someone, and who knows what’ll happen!

Since her fateful arrival in the Hoenn region, Mayday couldn't say she had been the victim of a dull day, as of yet. Knock on wood. There always seemed to be something to do, or something she could find to do. Take today, for example. Instead of taking a day to relax and unwind in the warmth of a cozy furnished home, the poison enthusiast took to finding a small request to accomplish. Simple in the objective, but the harvest could prove to be all the more advantageous on her end. Assuming she could pocket a berry or three for her troubles.

Harvest berries and brave the hazardous chill of the winter's gale. Sounded easy enough, nothing a hefty parka couldn't help with. Which was exactly what she dawned before tying a red and white checkered scarf around her neck and taking to traversing the region to the rendezvous point. Thankfully, she wouldn't be taking to the task alone, there would be the bonus of a berry picking partner. Things were coming up roses every day it seemed! "Quite frigid!" She calls forth, seeing the bright-haired female who had already arrived, an arm in the air and a salutary wave given.

Closing the distance, Mayday greets the female with a warm beam and claps her gloved palms together. "Good morning~" as chipper as one could be with the stain of a red nose due to the frosty weather, "I hope you haven't been waiting long? I couldn't decide on a scarf." One too many accessories, the bane of her punctuality. "Mayday Markov," she introduces, "at your service." What a cutie she had been paired with.

Of all the people that could have come to the fields to pick berries with her, she didn’t expect it to be someone like Mayday Markov. Beautiful, fashionable, lovely... There aren’t many people like that in Team Rocket, and her presence sure makes the prospect of this day of berry-picking all the more exciting for Ceri.

"The pleasure's all mine, Ceri~" quite the chipper little lady she was. A bright and warm disposition that was stark contrast tot he cold and frigid breeze that occasionally blew against the berries of the field. What a wonderful turn of events. With all of the members she had met from previous missions, it was almost impossible to guess what type of persona she would be met with on random. Ceri, was certainly a win for Mayday.

She places a hand against her scarf and beams brightly. "Oh, thank you~ it was on sale so I had to grab it. I can show you where I got it the next time we're both free?" No need to hide nice accessories from someone as cute as Ceri. She could easily pull off the scarf. In various colors, no less. Mayday had no doubts about it. "I can see you in a nice lilac or lavender number? It would go amazing with your hair and eyes." A shopping date was a must. But first, berry picking.

With a nod, Mayday agrees, "I suppose so," her bright hues scan the field and then return to meet Ceri. "Do you think we'll be able to salvage that many? Seeing as though the weather is doing all in its power to freeze us." A snicker flows before she kneels, sifting through the foliage in search of berries that survived the frost.

”Oh!” Gloves covered in mittens are clapped together in excitement at the prospect of a shopping trip, her smile being as bright as ever when looking at Mayday. ”That would be lovely, yeah!”

But, when the question comes, Ceri turns towards the trees, her gaze falling upon the few berries she can see.

”Mmm… Hard to say, but you could argue it’s not about quantity but quality, right? Wild pokémon probably ate all except the ones that are too spicy or too sour or bitter, but that works out great for us.”

After all, berries like those were usually exactly the ones with the kind of effects she looked for.

Digging into the pockets of her coat, it’s then that Ceri reaches for a pokéball, summoning a cute Ivysaur that looks up at both women.
